Non-urgent advice:
What does this mean?
- The waiting time information is updated each week and based on data provided by each hospital trust.
- Waiting times relate to routine elective care only. If you are referred for an urgent suspected cancer check you will be seen as early as possible.
- If n/a is indicated this may be due to the provider not delivering this service or information is currently unavailable.
- ‘First outpatient appointment’ is your first appointment with a healthcare provider after being referred by your GP. This may be face to face, online or by telephone.
- ‘Treatment’ may include a procedure or treatment in hospital overnight or a day appointment (inpatient or outpatient setting).
- The average waiting time is the average (mean) wait of all patients in this specialty (department) at each hospital trust.
- Some patients will wait less time than the average and some patients will wait longer than the average waiting time.
- ‘8 in 10 patients' means that for every 10 patients seen within this specialty (department), 8 are seen within the time frame shown.
- Patients are managed based on how urgent their condition is and therefore waiting times can vary depending on each patient's clinical condition.
